Hoya Super Hmc Uv Filter
- UV filters are individual compounds or mixtures to prevent ultraviolet (UV) light from coming through. UV filters are used in sunscreens to protect skin or in photography to reduce haziness or fogginess created by ultraviolet light.
- This coating is a filter for the harmful UV radiation. The coating is either put on the lens or is imbedded into the lens to protect your eyes for the harmful effect of the sun’s UV radiation.
- This is an Ultra Violet absorbing filter that helps overcome the abundance of blue in outdoor photographs. Not really necessary in digital photography as the camera's white balance system adjusts for the colour temperature of the scene.

Absorbs the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. A muliti-purpose fine-weather filter for color as well as black and white films. Also serves as a permanent lens protector. HMC (Hoya Multi-Coating) These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses.
Multicoated vs. Non-coated
Don't destroy the image quality of your expensive lenses with cheap filters. Definitely worth the extra dough for a (real) multicoated filter, esp. if you're gonna have it on all the time.
UV filters on today's DSLRs are basically just for protection (as opposed to film SLRs). I have this on my EF 100–400mm all the time. Up for comparison is a HOYA Super-HMC UV(0) filter and a Canon UV Haze (Sharp Cut) filter, both 77mm.

Thorne Research HMC Hesperidin Well-absorbed antioxidant flavonoid* a citrus flavonoid that supports blood vessel health* blood vessel stabilizing effects can reduce the incidence of menopausal hot flashes* stabilizes mast cells that store and release histamine* a water-soluble form of the flavonoid hesperidin Product Information Hesperidin is a flavonoid derived from citrus fruits (lemons and oranges). Many experts believe flavonoids like hesperidin have a synergistic activity with vitamin C.* Hesperidin may also increase the strength of veins and capillaries.* In addition, hesperidin can reduce histamine release from mast cells by strengthening the cell membrane (mast cells are blood cells that contain granules of histamine and other substances).*While hesperidin itself is not very water soluble, hesperidin methyl chalcone (HMC) is highly water soluble, allowing for greater absorption of the molecule in the gastrointestinal tract.* As with all flav...
